We are extremely lucky  to have such wonderful outdoor facilities and the children are encouraged to move freely between the inside and outside environments.

Waterproof clothing is provided which means that whatever the weather, the children can get plenty of fresh air and exercise. The younger children are also free to mix with the older children in our outside space which is important for their social and emotional development and aids the transition to the next stage of the nursery.

Playground: There is lots of space in the large playground for burning off energy on the scooters, trikes and bikes and the soft rubber surface gives the children confidence when trying something new.

Climbing Equipment, Play House and Boat: Our climbing areas encourage physical development, improve balance and help the children understand and manage risk in order to play safely. There are endless opportunities to stimulate the children’s imagination as they role play a shop, hotel, office or home in our play house and many adventures take place on HMS Loveders!

Mud Kitchen and Sandpit: There are plenty of opportunities for the children to create their own mud pie recipes or design and create amazing sandcastles but be warned ….. things can get messy!

Hammocks and Tyre Swing: relaxing in the shade of our silver birch or swinging through the air – this area of the garden is hugely popular with the children!

Vegetable Patch: Children of all ages are involved in our vegetable patch and experience great delight when taking their harvest to Stacey, Holly and Charlotte in the kitchen. The children learn where food comes from which aids there understanding of the world and even the fussiest eaters can be persuaded to try something they have grown themselves!

Quiet Spaces: Sometimes the children may want some more relaxed spaces to read a book or spend some quieter time with friends, away from the hustle and bustle.

Wildlife: We try to encourage as much wildlife to the Loveders garden as possible through planting flowers that attract bees and butterflies, making bird feeders, provided nesting boxes and creating our own bug hotel.
