We are incredibly lucky to have specialist teachers and visiting professionals to provide a range of classes and experiences for our children at Loveders. Music classes are enjoyed all through the nursery from our youngest babies through to those ready to leave for school. Music provides so many learning and development opportunities across the entire Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Rhythm, sequences and patterns help with maths; repetition of words and sounds in songs develop language and communication skills; dancing and movement aid physical development and creativity and handling instruments improve finer motor skills.
Our older children in the Nurture Room and Nursery also benefit from Spanish classes where they learn simple words and phrases through songs, nursery rhymes, games and activities.
Karen from Kind Space Yoga provides excellent opportunities for physical development, emotional wellbeing and mindfulness through her specially developed yoga sessions. Karen is a qualified Nursery Nurse (BTEC Nat Dip), has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and over 30 years experience focusing on mental health and well-being in young children.
We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world and we love to be able to share it with the children on our many excursions throughout the seasons. Walking through the bluebell woods in spring, tractor rides and alpacas at Lordington Lavender farm in the summer, harvesting apples and pumpkins in the autumn and selecting our Christmas trees from a local nursery in the winter are just a few recent examples.
